We are all proud sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc., an empowered organization that is dedicated to sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and Asian awareness. As we celebrate Founder’s week, let us take the time to reflect on the importance of our sorority as well as its current impact on our society today.
Twenty-six years ago this week, 14 women at the University of California at Berkeley dedicated themselves to creating alpha Kappa Delta Phi. They wanted a sisterhood that would address the lack of racial diversity that Asian American women faced in the Greek system. They pooled their collective strength to promote Asian Awareness in the community and leadership opportunities for women by providing each woman with the resources, unique sisterly support, and understanding to achieve her goals in life.
True to this mission, our sorority has become the leading Asian American interest sorority in the world. From annually fundraising over $100K for charitable causes and logging in over 18,000 hours of service, to being at the forefront of major industries as CEOs, doctors, lawyers, and government officials, our reach continues to touch the lives of those all around us.
Please join us as we kickoff Founder’s Week with a photo challenge to help remind us of how it all began. We hope that this week, and throughout this 26th anniversary year, that you remember why you joined αΚΔΦ and continue to be a part of this elite and incredible sisterhood.
